Level 1-2-3 Student 1998
This program was sponsored by the Provincial Government under youth Employment.
Glen King was hired for a period of six weeks at 30 hours a week, as grounds
keeper for the Heritage Park. As part of his duties Glen helped lay the sods
at the Water Wheel Building and surrounding area. In the weeks that followed
he fertilized, watered, mowed and maintained the grass. Upgrading of the walkways,
painting of the water wheel and building , building and painting of a fence
as a safety barrier was also carried out by this student.
Level 1-2-3 Student 1999
The Provincial government, through its program to provide summer employment for youth, provided funding to hire two youth for six weeks for 30 hours a week. MHA George Sweeney played a very important role in helping the VCDC receive this money. This program is directed at Level I, II, III, students.
Glen King and Jolene Dean were hired to work as Grounds Keepers and Tour Guides at the Lifestyles Museum.
Glen has joined the Armed Forces and Jolene has continued at school to complete
Grade 12.
