Accommodations
You
will be living in a rural area; however, this does not mean
that modern services are lacking. Homes, businesses, and public
buildings have central heating, and excellent electrical and
telephone services. Many have either a dial-up or high speed
Internet connection and cable or satellite television.
Most
people take great pride in their house keeping. Homes are
clean and well kept; and for meals you can expect large portions
of home cooked food.
In
Province Transportation
There
are flights between all airports in the province several times
a day. A privately owned bus service travels across the TransCanada
highway on the island part of the province, stopping at major
centers. Their schedule is available through their web site
- www.drlgroup.com/coachlines/schedservice.html
.
There
is no public transportation in the most areas; however, most
people own their own vehicles, and taxies and private bus
services are available.
Many
families enjoy spending time in the outdoors. All terrain
vehicles are popular in the summer and skidoos are popular
in winter.
Because
most of the population of the province lives near the water,
many families have some type of boat, varying from a rowboat
to a sailboat depending on the interests and the disposable
income of the family.
